The Process

The Clarifying Trio

Three stages inside a single tank. No external distribution box, no separate leach field, no buried components you cannot reach.

01

Aeration

A fine-bubble air diffuser injects dissolved oxygen into the tank, feeding aerobic microbes that break down organic waste in suspension. This active process works faster and more completely than the gravity-fed anaerobic bacteria in a conventional septic tank.

02

Clarification

Processed particulate settles in the clarifying chamber. Heavier solids descend back to the aeration tank for further treatment. The result is water that has shed virtually all suspended organic matter.

03

AK Skimmer

At midnight, the dual-port processor runs a 15-minute skimming cycle that returns floatable waste from the clarifying chamber surface back into aeration. By morning, the effluent is 98.8% cleaner than when it entered.

Tank Options

Fiberglass or Concrete

Both use the same Clarifying Trio process. Capacity ranges from 500 to 1,500 gallons per day for residential and small commercial use.

AquaKlear fiberglass treatment tank with green lids

Fiberglass

Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and straightforward to transport and install. The fiberglass shell will not degrade in acidic or high-water-table soils where concrete can erode over decades.

Concrete

Heavier and naturally ballasted against uplift in saturated ground. Concrete tanks are poured locally in many states, which can reduce freight costs on larger-capacity installations.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Answers to the questions homeowners and contractors ask most about AquaKlear systems.

A traditional septic tank relies on gravity and anaerobic bacteria. AquaKlear uses forced air through a fine-bubble diffuser to feed aerobic microbes that break down waste faster and more completely. The result is effluent that is 98.8% cleaner than what entered, with no odor. AquaKlear systems also have a compact, single-tank design with no external distribution box.

AquaKlear holds NSF/ANSI Standard 40 Class 1 certification, earned after nine months of comprehensive testing conducted by NSF International and Gulf Coast Testing Lab. The system surpasses U.S. EPA Secondary Treatment requirements.

AquaKlear manufactures systems in both fiberglass and concrete. Both use the same Clarifying Trio process, and capacity ranges from 500 to 1,500 gallons per day for residential and small commercial use. For larger needs, contact AquaKlear directly at (877) 936-7711.

AquaKlear has dealers, distributors, and installers in 18 U.S. states plus the Virgin Islands, including Mississippi, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, California, and Arizona. Call (877) 936-7711 for the nearest dealer.

AquaKlear systems have no internal moving parts and require minimal maintenance. Mr. Tucker, the company's founder, has had a system running at his own home since 2004. In over 20 years the only service needed was one compressor change and a filter replacement.

Do not put strong disinfectants or bleaches (beyond normal laundry amounts), cooking oils or grease, chemical wastes, disposable diapers, tampons, cigarette butts, water softener discharge, or any prescription or over-the-counter medications into the system. These can disrupt the aerobic bacteria that treat the wastewater.
